Captain Bad Cat
Thought I'd try something different and create this almost entirely with the pen tool and layer styles in photoshop, part from a couple color overlays and filters for texture here and there.
I've never created a gif of my progress before and I have to say it was very interesting to see what little changes happened over the course of coloring it.

Baltimore Comic-Con
This past weekend I had the pleasure of driving down for the Baltimore Comic-Con. I met up with some old friends and we hit the ground running. Traversing the crowds of sweaty fans to meet some very talented artists including Adam Hughes and Mike Mignola. I even managed to uncover something very special, a page from a 1905 collection of Winsor McCay comic strips!

Cheers to Adventure and New Art
Cheers to Adventure 9.5" W x 13" H
Hi everyone, I usually don't go in for abstract art but I found this image incredibly thought provoking and had to have it, plus my studio space is overflowing with art books but my walls are sadly vacant. So I wanted to share this fantastic print that I purchased from a good friend of mine, Emily Rickard. She's a phenomenal designer and all around sweet person so be sure to visit her society 6 page for iPhone cases and throw pillows and everything in-between and her Etsy page for originals and hand signed Giclee prints. Be sure to enter to win a free signed print here as well!

Pacific Rim
So my older brother talked me into doing a design your own Jaeger contest that IGN was having for the release of Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim. I know the contest is for a Jaeger (robot) design but I couldn't help making a Kaiju (monster) too. You can find the other entries here http://microsites.ign.com/pacificrim/
This particular Jaeger is known as Forge and it delivers one hot punch!

Dusting off the paints
16x20 oil on board
So I haven't touched my oil paints since college but when my uncle asked me to paint a portrait of a recently deceased colleague of his I couldn't say no. I have never thought of myself as a painter but I think this might of rekindled my interest in painting. Hopefully I'll be posting more traditional work in the future.
